With that being said, let’s now dive into some of the custom store examples!
AliDropship Custom Store Example – #1 Sensitty.com
Initial Impression: The store looks very professional, with its layout and use of high-quality images, it really does look like a reputable women’s clothing provider.
SEO Analysis: After running the store through Ahrefs, it’s clear that it’s quite a new store (looks to have been created in late 2019) and therefore it hasn’t accumulated many backlinks, and ultimately is not ranking for many keywords.
We usually find that 100 referring domains is the sweet spot for when a site really does well in search rankings.
To confirm, this is absolutely normal, and it usually takes a new website around 1-year to rank well in Google for medium competition keywords.
The site has some good on-page elements, however, there are several improvements that need to be made, to help it rank better in organic search.
- Needs to have more category pages, that are targeting longer-tail keywords, these can be colour and pattern variations. IE. Black Dresses, Green Dresses, Printed Maxi Dresses, Short Sleeve Maxi Dresses.
- Needs to include paragraph content (around 200-500 words) on each category page, either at the top of the page or at the bottom, which will provide the opportunity to add LSI keywords (synonyms) so that Google can better understand the content of the page, and help it to rank for these longer-tail keywords. Additionally, this will allow for internal links to be created, to help pass ‘Link Equity’ from one page to another.
UX Analysis:
The user experience was good, with effortless add-to-cart and a professional transaction experience on both Desktop and Mobile.
What we like:
- Professional Look
- High-quality images and banners
- Smooth buying experience
What we dislike:
- Not enough category pages
- No paragraph content (for optimization and internal linking)
How to improve:
- Do keyword research with a tool like KeySearch or Long Tail Pro to locate long-tail keywords (target through category pages & blog content)
- Add paragraph content to category pages, referring to keyword research for LSI keywords.
Overall Score: 7/10
AliDropship Custom Store Example – #2 Timelooks.com
Initial Impression: This store also looks professional in its layout… Although we’re not personally too keen on the logo design or the font, as this is meant to be a high-end looking store (we’re being really critical here) but these can be easily changed.
SEO Analysis:
Similarly to the last store we looked at,Β it’s clear that it’s quite a new store (looks to have been created in late 2019) and therefore it hasn’t accumulated many backlinks, and ultimately is not ranking for many keywords.
We imagine that AliDropship decided to create all of these sites at once, in an effort to showcase their custom store service.
The site has the same positive and negative aspects as the other site we looked at.
- There are only a few category pages which are targeting large, competitive keyword terms. Therefore, more category pages are required, targeting long-tail keywords, with less monthly search volumes and less competition.
- Additionally, the same is true for the paragraph content on the category URLs, with there being benefits to include around 200-500 words on each category page, either at the top of the page or at the bottom, which will provide the opportunity to add LSI keywords (synonyms) so that Google can better understand the content of the page, and help it to rank for these longer-tail keywords. Additionally, this will allow for internal links to be created, to help pass ‘Link Equity’ from one page to another.
UX Analysis:
The user experience was good, with effortless add-to-cart and a professional transaction experience on both Desktop and Mobile.
What we like:
- Professional Look, although we’re not keen on the logo
- High-quality images and banners
- Smooth buying experience
- Use of customer reviews as social proof
What we dislike:
- Not enough category pages
- No paragraph content (for optimization and internal linking)
How to improve:
- Do keyword research to locate long-tail keywords (target through category pages & blog content)
- Add paragraph content to category pages, referring to keyword research for LSI keywords.
Overall Score: 8/10
AliDropship Custom Store Example – #3 Borjuz.com
URL: https://borjuz.com/
Initial Impression: At first glance, the store looked a little odd, and that’s when I realized why… It doesn’t have a main menu… This is a HUGE mistake! Otherwise, it’s got a very ‘accessories store’ feel to it, and seeing as it is an accessories/jewelry store, selling lower-priced products, it’s perfectly created to create impulse purchasing.
SEO Analysis:
In comparison to the other websites that we’ve looked at, Borjuz.com also looks to have been created in late 2019.
However, it has accumulated more backlinks, referring domains, and ultimately has a higher UR, DR rating, which refer to overall SEO power.
As you can see from the screenshots below, which have been taken from Ahrefs, the links have seemingly helped the website rank for more keywords.
The site has some of the same positive and negative aspects as the other sites that we’ve looked at:
- There is no main menu, which not only allows the flow of link equity (gained from external backlinks to the website) to transfer to category pages, but it also means that users can find specific types of products more easily
- There are only a few category pages that are targeting large, competitive keyword terms.
- Does not have a main menu
- Not enough category pages
- No paragraph content (for optimization and internal linking)
How to improve:
- Include a main menu
- Do keyword research to locate long-tail keywords (target through category pages & blog content)
- Add paragraph content to category pages, referring to keyword research for LSI keywords.
Overall Score: 6/10
