So you’re interested in learning more about NeuronWriter, as it’s one of the newcomers on the block in of SEO optimization tools.
In this , we’re going to be discussing what exactly NeuronWriter is, the main and potential limitations, and who the tool is intended for.
Therefore, without further ado, let’s talk about NeuronWriter.
Table of Contents
NeuronWriter is an SEO optimization toolkit, ideal for SEO agencies, SEO experts, and business owners.
The brand is a child company of Contadu, which is a full-scale intelligence platform, designed for large enterprise business’.
NeuronWriter is more like a lite version of its parent, specifically for competitor analysis and creation. If you’re familiar with the 80:20 principle, NeuronWriter is primed to give you the core (20%) which get you 80% of the results.
It’s intended to help with the process of doing on-page optimizations to a , and has multiple to do this, including SERP/competitor analysis (both on-page and off-page), planning and drafting, and AI creation. All of the purpose of getting your to rank higher in the ( , more specifically).
Don’t worry, we’ll be talking about each of these aspects more specifically in the following sections.
What Brands Use NeuronWriter?
According to their , brands such as Decathlon, Castorama, Volkswagen, Electrolux, and Itaka all use NeuronWriter.
NeuronWriter
Let’s explore some of NeuronWriter’s core :
Competitor Analysis/SERP Analysis
When you enter a keyword into NeuronWriter’s interface, you’ll be presented with a few different tabs, ‘TOP Analysis’ is the tab we’ll be focusing on in this section.
Once you click on ‘Top Analysis’, you’ll be brought to a screen labeled ‘Competition’ which displays an overview of the keyword difficulty score, alongside core on-page data points and off-page data points (taken from Moz) for all top 10 within the SERP.
Let’s briefly mention the specific data points which are displayed:
On-Page Metrics
- score
- Page title
- Language
- length (characters)
- Word count
- Readability score
Off-Page Metrics
- Moz page authority
- Moz domain authority
- Moz page MozRank
- Moz page external links
Overall, this gives a great overview of the SERP in of which are succeeding in of on-page and off-page SEO.
Neuron also provides a content optimization checklist, for those who want to see how optimized their page is overall.
However, a more specific visualization of the data can be found within the ‘ – breakdown’ tab.
It essentially allows for you to visualize and overlay data points on a graph, showing all of the SERP , for the purpose of correlational analysis. Very useful indeed!
This is of the aspects we like most about NeuronWriter, is unlike most on-page SEO-optimisation tools, like MarketMuse or SimilarContent, because NeuronWriter provides specific off-page data, on a page and domain level, making competitor analysis a lot easier, so you can spot if a page could be ranking due to their backlink profile instead of their quality. A crucial aspect so you can filter out these URLs when doing on-page optimizations.
Surfer SEO is the only other tool that presents off-page SEO data to users in this format, but is substantially more expensive in price. We personally love SurferSEO, but NeuronWriter has a lot of potential to differentiate itself from the further developed competitor over .
Planning & Drafting
Once you’ve completed the competitor analysis stage, and have selected the that you want NeuronWriter to analyze, you can then let NeuronWriter get to (grab a cup of coffee whilst you wait).
When it’s finished processing data, you’ll be presented with the editor interface (as shown below).
Neuron uses NLP-based as the basis to evaluate SERP , in to create a benchmark for what you need to optimize towards. The that Neuron uses rely on 6 pillars, which they don’t provide information of, but the company describes how this is a base layer and they use further filters and variations to modify the models.
The editor itself is very clean and user-friendly, with a lot of the normal options/ that you’d expect to see, but some of the nicer options include:
- Counts of the number of H1 & H2 tags
- NLP keyword suggestions
- Specific H1 & H2 keyword
- Specific paragraph keyword
- List of questions to answer
- List of competitor’s H1s
- List of competitor’s H2s
- YouTube video ideas

Who is NeuronWriter For?
NeuronWriter is one of the newer softwares on the block, but by no means is it a newcomer, with its parent company Contadu being a serious contender in the industry. Because of this, it’s definitely here to stay!
In our opinion, NeuronWriter is very similar to SurferSEO, but aimed at a slightly lower price-point ($19 vs $99 – This is for Surfer’s NLP package), and also stripped of excessive ranking factors, so users can simply get the essential that move the needle.
It should also be noted that Surfer only includes NLP analysis for month 1 with their lower-priced package ($49), with it being an additional cost in later months.
The brand itself even acknowledges that they are similar to Surfer, but we think that the clear differentiation here is the cost, and that Surfer can be overcomplex for those wanting core SEO , and some may find it a little overwhelming.
Either way, check out our SurferSEO to learn more about that tool too.
However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly SEO tool to help with SERP analysis and NLP optimization, then Neuron may be the tool for you.
We’ll be writing a full of this tool soon, so stay tuned!
